Alexander House
Alexander House is a Inn and Hostel.

From the birth of the idea for a hostel in Charlottesville to the purchase of the existing inn in 2009, to the present evolution of Alexander House Inn & Hostel, the group has maintained its vision for a collectively-owned, independent and service-oriented business. It is the first time any of the owners have embarked on such an enterprise, and so far, it has been gratifying both for the collective and for the international traveling community it serves.

The collective is currently made up of five members, each owning an equal share of the business and operating together with a mutual understanding of respect, compassion, and communication to make decisions and keep the operation going..

Cooperative structure

Alexander House Inn & Hostel has been a worker-owned cooperative since 2009. The organization is based on 5 members workers-owners with equal share of the business and operating together.
