Cooperative creates living wage jobs in a safe and healthy working environment, while promoting personal growth and educational opportunities for its members. Color me! cooperative's core values are courage, dedication and professionalism.

About the Cooperative

Color Me! was launched in Sunset Park, Brooklyn in March 2010. With the support of the Center for Family Life, the 13 worker-owners came together to conceptualize, plan and launch a worker-owned women-run cooperative business. The members completed an intensive 10-week of training that included interior painting lessons, discussions about the principles of Cooperatives, customer service, how to run a business, and communication within the cooperative team member.

All members have an equal vote in decisions regarding policy and operations. In addition, members work together to promote the business and meet bi-weekly for ongoing training and support. Every member has the opportunity to gain leadership skills by joining one of four committees and training other cooperatives members around the country.
