Wild salmon with mushrooms
Luxury Hampers
Last weekend I had an unexplained hankering for some
smoked
wild salmon, and what with the British summer taking pity upon me and
providing me with some well-deserved sunshine, I figured why not pick up a
picnic hamper and treat the wife to a lovely
al fresco
meal.
I picked up the
luxury hamper the following day and surprised my beloved with a rather
sensational selection of salmon, cold meats, pork pies, salad,
strawberries and cream, cheese and biscuits and a
cracking
bottle of Rose - her favorite. There was no point when I thought the
contents of the hamper would fail to cut the
mustard as far as I was concerned.
It was an effortless venture requiring only the most
minimal of preparation - all I needed was a picnic rug, a wine chiller and a
gourmet
gift basket straight from the shops. The wife and I certainly had a
pleasant day, and were very pleased that the weather decided not to
hamper our cause and stayed clement.
