The castle contains a series of rooms that are rich in history painted on the walls, on the frescoed ceilings and on the costumes of a little theatre which was the product of a whim of a certain Duchess Maria Ruspali Gramon who between 1920 and 1935 turned it into an incomparable cultural salon, playing host to important figures from the culture and high society of the time. Upon the wish of its owner it has now become a hospitable residence, its interior structures opening up their beauties to a clientele in search of something which is uncommon and unique for either a brief stay or a restful holiday.
Situated in the artistic city of Castell'Arquato and just off the Via Francigena, the Conservatorio Villaggi (Villaggi Conservatory) is a former convent converted into a hostel which still maintains today all of the sober elegance of another time, with its frescoed rooms and enchanting garden, cooled by a precious natural spring. Guests can sleep in comfortable rooms with two, four or six beds and private bathrooms and have the chance to try excellent local cuisine. The rooms, some of them with frescoes, offer the opportunity to hold conferences, meetings and training courses for selected groups.

And it is from the kitchen that a wonderful medley of aromas and flavors rises up: from international dishes to the many specialties of Parma's cuisine.
The
lodging-house can also host meetings and congresses in its five
rooms, which have all the equipment required for conducting

by great distances, interrupted only by the copses that run alongside brooks

of the most ancient dwellings of Piacenza, Vigoleno Castle stands on a ridge
overlooking the river of the Stirone Nature Park.
It is also well-suited to ceremonies, gala events, conferences, conventions

The vast English-style
garden is a convivial place that is ideal for enjoying the
climate of the hills of Piacenza. The hostel, which has a TV
room and telephone, also offers the convenience of a private car

Built in the XVIII century by the Princes Meli Lupi, the lords of
these lands, this lodging-house has been restored with great
care, not only externally but also internally, maintaining its
original atmosphere intact. Antique furniture and paintings from
the Italian School of the XVII century adorn the reception, the
lobby and the restaurant, while the brick floor still preserves
its function of radiating heat from the kitchen to the
surrounding rooms.

Accommodation in ancient walls Seven exclusive suite in the historical Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati,
just a short walk from the most important monuments and museums of the city.
This is where, in the Middle Ages, the de Adam family lived and produced the
great chronicler Fra' Salimbene and later on the Marquises Prati, who became
related by marriage in the XVIII century to the Dalla Rosa family,
consisting of influential jurisconsults and patrons of arts. It is, in fact,
to Scipione Dalla Rosa, brother-in-law of the abbess Giovanna Piacenza and
administrator of the Monastery of San Paolo, that we owe the arrival in
Parma of the artist known as “il Correggio”. The current features of the
building date back to the second half of the XVIII century. The wrought-iron
balcony which overlooks the square is an expression of the finest art of the
time, as are the suspended arches in the courtyard. The owner's house on the
first floor, the current residence of the Marquises Dalla Rosa Prati, has a
frescoed salon with views and paintings attributed to Domenico Muzzi.
Available for day visits, of various sizes, with kitchenette, air
conditioning and satellite TV, some of the apartments can be connected,
allowing them to be used as suites. The palace is also home to a beauty farm
offering massages and sunbeds, an excellent restaurant and a terrace on the
top floor from which to admire a unique view of the Cathedral and the
Baptistery.

Set in the rock, overlooking the valleys of the Tidone and
Chiarone streams, the Castrum Olzisij is one of the oldest and most
suggestive fortresses of the Piacenza area, enclosed by no less than six
concentric walls. Established around 1000 AD, it belonged to the monks of
San Savino. In 1378, after changing hands several times, it was handed over
by Gian Galeazzo Visconti to the captain Jacopo Dal Verme, victor in the
battle of Alessandria against Florence. The history of this fortress tells
of sieges and conflicts, yet the Dal Verme family steadfastly retained
possession of it for nearly four centuries. Its present owners have overseen
its extensive and careful restoration.

The Tower, of the same age as the oldest part of the Castle of
Gropparello and other castles in the valley, was built as a defensive
“support” to the castle itself, at the entrance to Val Vezzeno. Of note are
the arrow slits and decorations, presently undergoing restoration, situated
below the roof. Used as a military station in times of old, its main
entrance door was positioned high upon the road, in order to prevent access
by invaders. From the middle of the XV century onwards there began a gradual
transformation of the old fortification from a military site into a “place
of delights”. As a consequence the “accessory” towers also underwent the
same transformation.
