holidays for everyone
This offer is directed by the Association of holiday farms of Friuli Venezia
Giulia – Regional Agency to all guests who would like to experience every taste
of a different, really agreeable and relaxing holiday in our region.
Holiday farms are becoming more and more a favorite holiday destination
for families, young and less young people, all of whom want to live in touch
with nature and discover the charm of country life and culture in an authentic,
informal environment with a simple, direct hospitality, in which to relax and
forget daily stress for a while.
Comfortable flats, rooms with country or antique furniture, warm and cosy
mountain chalets, mountain huts, farmhouses or elegant and old manor villas of
Friuli: from the mountains through hills covered by vineyards to the sea, you
will have plenty of choice.
You can spend your days relaxing in the swimming pool or in the
hydro-massage pool, caring for your body, walking through parks or on the many
naturalistic paths, doing trekking, hiring bikes to plunge into the countryside,
up and down the hills or tackling the most demanding mountain paths on mountain
bikes. Or riding, playing golf, enjoying archery or attending music, cooking,
pottery and marquetry courses. In the mountain huts in the middle of the green
Friuli mountains, you will enjoy wonderful views and watch how milk is processed
and transformed into ricotta or other kinds of cheese.
Children and young people can spend some days on farms, in contact with the
animals, or discover nature as well as country traditions and activities. A lot
of holiday farms organize guided tours for grown-ups to museums of country life,
to castles, naturalistic sites of the area, sometimes by typical means of
transport, as well as to the most interesting tourism destinations.
The holiday farms of the region offer sport and cultural activities,
musical entertainment, exhibitions about country life as well as various events.
You shall not forget the many wineries linked to farm holidays, which
offer guided tour and tasting of excellent quality wines.
And finally, stop to taste the delicious food prepared according to
traditional recipes, which are always updated, and only with seasonal products:
pitina, salami with cao, duck and goose dishes, frico, salami with vinegar,
musetto, toc in braida, omelettes, polenta, jota, goulash and presnitz, just to
mention a few.
