Friuli mountains
Friuli Venezia Giulia also means being able to live the mountains
in a different way. A natural and direct way, satisfying
from all points of view: from sports to the contact with the
mountain people, who are so indissolubly tied to their
traditions and so extraordinarily hospitable.
The discovery will start from the territory:
varied and surprising for the historical events that have
left their marks here, point of encounter of Latin, Germanic
and Slav populations. All the locations are placed at short
distances from one another and may all be easily reached.
And the wonderland trip stars from here.

Visit the forests,
amongst the large preserved in the whole of Europe, and the
numerous parks and nature reserves,
with their natural inhabitants like the chamois, the ibex
and the birds of prey – the last remaining griffon vultures
live in these mountains.
Alpine pastures, protected areas,
small lakes at high altitudes, rocky slopes and wild forests
are only a few of the different aspects with which nature
has endowed these mountains in Friuli.
All the lovers of sports and outdoor
activities will be able to live unforgettable experiences
without any limits such as age or sports aptitude and
skills: climbing, mountaineering, flying off the mountain
peaks and down the slopes on gliders and hang-gliders and
then also golfing and fishing, canoeing and windsurfing
along torrents and on lakes that are as pure as crystals; a
concentration of activities in a scenario that even
mountain-bikers and lovers of trekking on foot and on
horseback, will definitely consider a paradise.
At high altitudes, the characteristic barns
and enchanting Alpine huts are all
connected one to the other by trekking routes with differing
degrees of difficulty, immersed in the green landscape of
the Alps and which represent a junction-link with the
neighbouring region of Carinthia.
But the mountains in Friuli also offer
visitors a view overlooking many characteristic villages
surrounded by lush green pastures, which are gathered around
small churches with their stern elegance and enlivened by
the cheerful atmosphere of the numerous festivals dedicated
to tradition and folklore.
