The epithet ‘Sudtirol’s Green Valley’ applies equally to the
higher, Alta Pusteria area.
Side valleys to the north are
spacious and hospitable, while to the south the unmistakable
towers and crags of the Dolomites beckon, among them the three
world famous obelisks of sheer rock, the ‘Drei Zinnen’.
Discover
wild and romantic nature, alpine pastures, typical log cabins
offering hospitality, pretty mountain lakes, and a treasure
trove of culture in the villages.
Sesto
At the genesis of earth Sesto was provided with
many natural beauties. It is not the merit of
the people of Sexten that their valley is the
most beautiful valley on earth - and even less
that in this valley there are the impressive "Drei
Zinnen" and the breathtaking mountains of the
Dolomites.
However, the people of Sesto have always
strongly defended two things: a careful and
measurable use of this extraordinary natural
environment and the care they take in making
sure every single one of their guests feels like
they are at home.
Maybe these are the same two reasons why you
decided to spend your holidays in Sesto. You are
looking for holidays in the "original" sense and
for days of relaxation.
And all this in a
landscape where the air is pure, the water
clean, the woods are healthy and even the
tourism is bearable. In this village you can
meet people with whom you feel at ease with and
whom you want to spend some time with.
Therefore: welcome to Sesto!
San Candido, Prato Drava, Versciaco
The documented history of Innichen starts in the year 769 ac
when the bajuwarian Duke, Tassilo III, donated a piece of
land to the Benedictine Abbot, Atto, with the proviso that a
monastery would be built for the conversion of the Slav
populations of the Alps.
When Atto became the Bishop of Freising in the year 783 ac,
Innichen came to fall under the rule of Freising and
remained so until 1803.
Today the town with its population of 3,100 inhabitants -
together with the villages of Vierschach and Winnebach - is
a favorite holiday resort both in summer and winter. Its
numerous sports facilities and infrastructures and
especially the intact landscape of the Sextner Dolomites
will satisfy any desire.
Why don’t you come and have a taste of paradise in the "Land
of the Drei Zinnen"!
Toblach - Dobbiaco
"It is wonderful here and certainly heals body
and soul" said Gustav Mahler in 1909 about
Dobbiaco.
The town is still a famous mountain health
resort surrounded by the most beautiful
mountains in the world, the Dolomites.
Dobbiaco lies at 1256 m a.s.l., at the entrance
of the Valley di Landro, on the big alluvial
cone of the Silvestro stream, the watershead
between the Adriatic and the Black Sea. Its
altitude and position in the mountains determine
its climate. The area surrounding Dobbiaco is
among the sunniest in the entire valley.
It is geographyhical in the proximity to the world famous
Tre Cime di Lavaredo, to the deep blue mountain
lakes, and to the Olympic games town Cortina
d'Ampezzo.
These are just a few of the many
holiday advantages offered by the paradise area
of Dobbiaco. Here valley and rises, fields,
forests and mountain pastuers are spotted with
beautiful farms and several Churches and Chapels
of artistic and historic significance.

Pragser Tal - Val di Braies
The picturesque Valle di Braies, famous for its quiet position close to
nature, lies
amidst the magnificent high plateaus in the natural park Fanes-Sennes-Braies
and the spectacular mountain group of the Dolomites of Braies with its
bizarre and haughty peaks.
Enter a world far from everyday life, in which customs and traditions have
not changed for centuries. Fragrant alpine meadows in rich green colors
with a large variety of flowers and animals flourish next to spare high
plateaus used as pastures. Dense and shadowy woods change with craggy rocks.
Solitary valleys give you interesting insights into the architecture of the
landscape of the Valle di Braies. Deep blue winter days and clean air
transform the magnificent natural landscape of the legendary kingdom of
Dolasilla into a never ending winter dream.
Prato Piazza (Platzwiese) and the Lake of Braies (Lago di Braies – Pragser
Wildsee), famous for their preserved naturalness are frequently visited
places both in summer and winter and attract local people as well as people
from all over the world.
