Quite unique for a ski resort in
Trentino, the snow season at Passo Tonale continues all year round: one
winter season is linked to the next by summer skiing on the equipped slopes
of the Presena Glacier, reaching up to 3 thousand meters a.s.l., a training
ground used by both national ski teams and ski clubs.
Snow offers
Passo Tonale and the nearby Ponte di Legno, to which it is
linked by a new eight-seat cable lift and a link slope, offer a ski area totaling
over 100 km slopes served by a modern network of 30 lift facilities and completely
covered by snow-making equipment.
From Passo Paradiso, arrival station of the cable
car coming from Passo Tonale, the 3 km long "Pista Paradiso" welcomes skiers looking
for challenging uninterrupted trails. Similar slopes are available down the northern
side as well, namely at Cima Bleis and Passo Contrabbandieri.
From the charming Ponte di Legno resort, lift facilities will take you to the slopes winding down Corno d’Aola
and linked to the new lift facilities and slopes at Temù.
Passo Tonale offers cross-country ski trails, long sleigh slopes
equipped with sleigh-lift facilities for children within the so-called "Fantaski"
area, a playground on the snow especially conceived for youngsters, as well as the
opportunity to spend an afternoon on board of Canadian sleighs along with the most
beautiful Siberian husky dogs.
Geography
At the furthest Western stretch of Val di Sole,
Passo Tonale is an Alpine pass that was used in ancient times by the people
living in Val di Sole and Val Camonica. Helped by a unique natural setting
and by its height, a modern mountain resort has replaced in recent times the
traditional hospices. From the Alpine huts at high altitude, that you
may want reach by fast four-seat covered chair-lifts even only to get a
suntan, you will enjoy the charming view of the snow-clad Presanella cliffs,
Cima Vermiglio and Busazza.

of Vermiglio and Pontedilegno, at a few kilometers distance from the Pass, include
a comprehensive choice of hotels, apartment and bed and breakfast hotels boasting
